A new client project is underway and I am excited to share with you the living room design concept. This project is going to be completed in 4 phases – living room, dining room, front entry seating room and finishing off the overall project with the master bedroom! My sweet client’s moved into their home almost 1 year ago exactly and the house remains primarily bare with only the essentials purchased. I think this rings true for many homeowners. You finally move into your dream home and now what!? Que muah, the interior designer, who can come make your life soooo unbelievably easy! Let’s take a look at some before photos of my client’s living room!
Before
As you can see, although functional, the living room feels very uninviting at the moment. Although, I am quite obsessed with this linen round sectional sofa. I love when client’s have beautiful pre existing furniture that I can work with. But if not – we can usually work around that too. My client’s have a large family and often times have family and friends over so they need plenty of seating in this space. There is also an opening to the left of the fireplace that leads to the mudroom/garage, a bedroom and a powder bathroom. Because of this the layout is extremely important. for functionality of the room.
Mood Boards
My client’s are drawn to a more neutral soft color palette, but also really love blue. Many of the inspirational images that were shared carried the same french blue color, which happens to be one of my favs! It’s such a timeless and classic color and love pairing it with a polished nickle finish. They so graciously trusted me in their home and ultimately said “you do you Laura!”, which is music to my ears (and any Interior Designers if you were to ask them).
Renderings
My full service design and my e design include 3d renderings done in high quality. The purpose of these renderings is primarily for space planning as the products used in the rendering are not actual products that will be used. However, these renderings are completed to – scale, meaning they are scaled to show exactly how they will fit in the room. This is an essential part of the design process to ensure the pieces I am sourcing and selecting will ultimately fit in the space!
The next step in the design process is ordering all of the selections and awaiting the install date (along with a whole lot of background work completed by me). Stay tuned for #projectgoldfinch final reveal in a few weeks!
