This is #1 in my master bedroom blog post series. Over the next few weeks, while I makeover the master bedroom in our own home, I’ll be spilling alll the dirt on how to design and style your bedroom like a professional Interior Designer! Stay tuned while I answer questions such as “my favorite paint colors for a bedroom”, “how to choose a nightstand and a dresser that aren’t in a matching set”, “how to style pillows for a king, queen and full size bed”, “what size rug do I need and where do I put it!?”, “wall sconces above nightstands – yes or no!?”, “how to make a bed like a hotel” and many many more.
If you missed the design plans for our master bedroom makeover – you can check that out HERE. I have been finalizing designs and receiving orders so things will get rolling really soon! First on the list will be ripping out the old and filthy carpet, painting the walls Alabaster by Sherwin Williams and replacing the floors with a hardwood.
I want this home project to be one that is obtainable by everyone! I only sourced retail products with a serious budget in mind! Purchasing a new bed can be quite the investment so it is something I don’t take lightly. I knew that I wanted the classic look of a tufted headboard, but wanted to make it unique by using a navy velvet fabric. I searched high and low for an option that didn’t cost an arm and a leg, so today I am sharing a round up of my favorite tufted beds that I came across! And bonus – they are all budget friendly!
Willa Arlo Interiors Jennie Tufted Low Profile Bed
This is the tufted bed that I finally landed on for our master bedroom makeover. I love how rich the navy velvet fabric is and the nickel nail head trim. The silver legs are an added glam bonus! I prefer headboards that are more dramatic in their height, so this one certainly fits the bill!
Skyline Furniture Loa Tufted Wingback Velvet Bed
This is a great option if you are looking for that classic wingback, tufted with nailhead look for your bed – but prefer a neutral color. The subtle slope of the side profile on the headboard is dreamy! I am imaging some lux bedding and maybe even a faux fur throw blanket.
Charlotte Velvet Tufted Wingback Bed
Holy heck is this bed frickin’ gorgeous on every level! In all honesty, I am not a huge orange fan. It is typically one of the colors I shy away from. But I am legit obsessed with this burnt orange color! The velvet material makes it so chic too! You could go boho with this bed or even go glam! Add in some navy blue (complimentary color to orange) and you have yourself a gorgeous color palette!
Fenmore Tobacco Tufted Upholstered Bonded Leather Sleigh Bed
I am such a fan of leather especially when mixing styles together (ahem – master bedroom). This bed could lean more masculine and you can add in more feminine touches by incorporating ornate furniture pieces and materials such as velvet and/or adding in art such as this one. The perfect compromise! 🙂
Norris Espresso King Bed
Another way cool leather – look option but in more of a moody color! How amazing would this look in a very transitional (traditional / contemporary mix) room that is primarily black and white!? It is hard to see in the photo – but this bed also has copper nail head trim. Yes please!
Chelmsford Tufted Bed
Where are all my traditional design style lovers out there!? I have found the perfect bed for you! The curved detailing on this bed plus the tufted footboard!? I can’t even. Look at the ornate legs!? It’s all in the details, my friends! I can envision some floral pattern play with this whether it be with curtain panels or throw pillows. Something like this would be simply stunning.
Brewer Upholstered Bed
Second to blue, emerald green is my favorite color. There is something so timeless yet chic about it and it compliments pretty much any color (especially my all time fav leopard or tiger print). I went back and fourth between this bed and the Willa Arlo Interiors Navy bed that I ultimately chose. This bed is simply classic and will never go out of style – and can also accommodate your ever evolving design changes with the accessories you choose!
